Operations manager - Fuels / Petroleum - Kabul, Afghanistan - TAX FREE
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a leading international life support service company for an experienced Fuels / Petroleum Operations Manager to work within their operations on the military base in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The successful candidate will be looking after a team of professionals in country and will be reporting directly to the Country Manager. You will be responsible for the management and control of the clients fuel operations within Afghanistan, provide advice to fellow managers and step in for the PM and Logistics Manager when required.
Responsibilities will also include:
· Managing the fuel supply chain in country
· Staffing levels within Afghanistan.
· Health and Safety matters.
· Ensuring Afghanistan personnel receive induction training in Kabul prior to taking over their designated position.
· The direct supervision of site managers throughout the country.
· Develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures.
· Responding and acting upon customer queries.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
· Knowledge and application of contemporary fuel management and quality control.
· Experience of working in either a remote site and/ or with the military
· Business process improvement skills and experience
· Proven ability to manage an isolated and successful business
· Ability to work in an international, dynamic and multicultural environment.
· Working knowledge of fuel delivery and safety requirements.
· Can adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
· Good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
· Experienced PC User, familiar with MS Office, email and Internet
· Proven leadership and management skills.
· Computer skills.
Package
72,000 EUR per annum – At the current exchange rate this equates to 60,000 GBP TAX FREE
Rotation is 14 and a half weeks in and 3 weeks out
Accommodation, food, laundry, flights etc is all provided.
